Your Blog on IoE
Ideas on Europe is an online platform for original and informed analysis and comment on European issues. If you wish to be part of this forum and have an idea for an individual blog, we invite you to join us. Or browse through existing blogs first to find inspiration.
Creating a blog is simple. To apply to create a blog on Ideas on Europe, you need to be a UACES or IACES member. Find more information about how to become a member here.
If you are a UACES or IACES member, please email admin@uaces.org with the following information for a personal blog:
- Name
- A short bio of yourself including your professional affiliation
- A photo of you
- Name of blog (3-4 words at most)
- Blog tagline (one-line description of your blog; 5-8 words at most)
- A short summary of your blog content
- An image that suits your blog or an associated logo in square format
- Any links to other profiles you would like to add
If you are a Group Member and would like to register (several) authors/blog owners to an institutional blog, please provide the following information to admin@uaces.org instead:
- Name of blog (3-4 words at most) – this can simply be the name of the department
- Blog tagline (one-line description of your blog; 5-8 words at most)
- A short summary of your blog (what are you publishing? What is the blog about?)
- An image that suits your blog or an associated logo in square format (UACES can assist with this if needed)
- If possible, an admin email address, photo/logo, and a short description of the authorship that includes details about who is blogging (guest authors, a group of academics from the same institution, or other main authors?)
- If applicable, name of each main author/blog administrator
- If applicable, email of each main author/blog administrator
- If applicable, a photo of each author/blog administrator
Group Member blogs can be managed in different ways. You either have one administrator for the blog who uploads each article and guest author, or you have several authors in your department who regularly blog with their own access.
If you are a UACES Network and would like to register several authors/blog owners to the individual blog, please provide the following information to admin@uaces.org instead:
- Name of each author/blog owner
- Email of each author/blog owner
- A short bio of yourself of each author/blog owner
- A photo of each author/blog owner
- An admin email address, photo/logo and bio that includes details about who is blogging (guest authors, the network convenors or a group of academics)
- Name of blog (3-4 words at most)
- Blog tagline (one-line description of your blog; 5-8 words at most)
- A short summary of your blog content
- An image that suits your blog or an associated logo in square format
- Any links to other profiles you would like to add
We have assembled an FAQs page for prospective bloggers that might have questions beforehand. Alternatively, if your question isn’t answered on this page you can get in touch by emailing: admin@uaces.org.
Privacy Notice
If your application is accepted, your data will be used to allow you to log in to the website and publish your articles, and for the Ideas on Europe administrator (UACES staff) to communicate with you via email when necessary for technical assistance or support or to let you know about new features or opportunities for blog authors.
Your data will not be used for any other purpose or shared with any other party.
If your application is not accepted, your personal data will be deleted.

If you want to stop blogging you can let us know at any time how you would like to proceed with your data – either deleting or keeping it online. If your membership expires, we will keep your blog online for another year but after that will be deleted including your data.
If you change your email address, you will be able to change it directly in the backend. Let us know if you need assistance. If you blog through your association or you are a guest author we will keep your data until further notice or until the membership of your host expires.
